The 17-year aging process behind this expression is entirely one-of-a-kind. Due to historical rickhouse shifts, these specific barrels spent time maturing in both traditional timber-clad warehouses and low-lying brick rickhouses (originally from the Old Crow distillery). This unique environment yielded an unusually low barrel entry-to-exit proof loss, allowing the whiskey to mellow gracefully over nearly two decades into an exceptionally smooth, low-proof profile without sacrificing its rich structural depth.
