Every year, WhistlePig pushes the outer boundaries of whiskey finishing with its highly coveted The Boss Hog series. For the eleventh iteration—named The Juggernaut—WhistlePig’s blending team journeyed to India in search of inspiration, ultimately pioneering the world’s first Thandai-finished rye whiskey. Thandai, a fragrant elixir traditionally served during celebrations of victory, creation, and the spring festival of Holi, provides a stunning, deeply aromatic match for mature, barrel-strength rye.
The Ultra-Limited Holi Edition
While the standard Juggernaut is itself incredibly rare, this Holi Edition is a true crown jewel for serious whiskey collectors. Produced in an ultra-exclusive run of only 2,000 bottles, it honors India’s vibrant festival of colors. The bottle is adorned with beautiful Hindi script on the label, housed in a premium display case, and crowned with a bespoke, hand-painted collectible pewter pig topper depicting a festive, colorful pig dressed in traditional attire.
The Spice-Market Finish
To construct this one-of-a-kind finish, WhistlePig’s distillers hand-selected a medley of spices directly from India’s historic spice markets—including saffron, cinnamon, cardamom, nutmeg, fennel, poppy seeds, and black peppercorn. These botanicals were used to season unique finishing barrels, which then housed some of WhistlePig’s oldest, most exceptional single-barrel rye stocks.
