Description
The magic of this bourbon lies in its aggressive, high-rye mash bill (51% dent corn and 49% estate-grown rye). This nearly 1:1 grain ratio creates an extraordinarily complex bridge between classic, sweet bourbon and spicy, robust rye. Matured in heavily charred Vermont white oak barrels—which feature a tighter wood grain than southern oak due to the short, cold northern growing seasons—the whiskey absorbs intense wood sugars and rich, warm flavors at a rapid rate. Released as a single-barrel offering, each bottle stands as a highly allocated, unfiltered showcase of craft distilling excellence.
Tasting Profile
-
Appearance: Bright, deep copper-amber with high clarity and slow, thick legs that beautifully cling to the glass.
-
Aroma: Deep, warm, and exceptionally fragrant. Rich aromas of authentic Vermont maple syrup and caramelized brown sugar are balanced by vanilla bean, toasted pecans, fresh orange zest, and a sharp, minty rye herbal backbone.
-
Palate: Robust, full-bodied, and highly complex. The palate is greeted by an immediate, creamy wave of sweet vanilla custard, butterscotch, and dark chocolate, which is quickly overtaken on the mid-palate by a heavy wave of rye baking spice, black pepper, and toasted oak.
-
Finish: Long, warming, and incredibly layered. The initial maple and caramel sweetness recedes slowly, leaving a crisp, dry, and clean finish marked by lingering cinnamon, nutmeg, fresh mint, and seasoned oak tannins.
