WhistlePig’s Legends Series celebrating trial-blazing champions reaches racing-worthy G-force levels with this Alfa Romeo F1 Team Stake partnership. This bottle isn’t just branded for racing—it was literally shaped by it.
In a dramatic display of physical wood management, trial barrels were tested inside the team’s wind tunnel in Switzerland to observe aerodynamic properties. Selected barrels were then subjected to varying physical G-forces at WhistlePig’s farm in Vermont. This constant motion accelerated the interaction between the liquid and the wood, forcing the whiskey deeper into the barrel staves to extract maximum flavor in record time.
The Flavor Innovation
Inspired by Zhou Guanyu—the first Chinese F1 driver—the base PiggyBack 100% rye whiskey is finished in barrels infused with premium lychee fruit and oolong tea.
The oolong tea introduces elegant herbal and floral top notes that perfectly align with the natural herbaceous qualities of the rye. Meanwhile, the sweet, juicy profile of tropical lychee rounds out the whiskey’s fiery spice, creating a highly complex, refreshing, and unconventional pour.
